Angkor visit

Hello!!

I am BAACCKKK!! I know, it has been a while.  School is over for the year, our last day was February 27th for the students and March 6th for me.  So since school ended, you know what that means for me....vacay time!!  This time, I decided to go to Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Siem Reap, Cambodia is located in the Northerwestern part Cambodia.  A few minutes outside of Siem Reap is the city of Angkor.  Angkor means city in Khmer, the official language of Cambodia, and many temples were built here during the Khmer empire.   The history of Angkor began with the ruling of Jayavarman II and he built temples and monuments in this region.  Some lists will mention the temples as part of the 7 wonders of the world. The temples were structured for the gods and were the center of the Khmer empire at one time.  We visited 11 different temples over 2 days and we had an amazing experience.

There is A LOT of history surrounding the Khmer empire, temples and the rulers during this time.  I inserted 2 links for you to read more about the history.  I hope you enjoy the pics!!!

Here is some information about Angkor from the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
